Staying Consistent with what's already working is the key to making progress!

Rinse and repeat.

Honestly sometimes it’s as simple as that when it comes to your happiness / wellness, even if there’s just a little bit of momentum heading your way.

Recently I had someone ask what was next for me, which seems to be a question I get pretty often, and without giving it much thought I replied simply “to keep doing what I”m doing”.

I’m not going to lie in the past I would have answered differently because I often felt a pressure to constantly make huge leaps and bounds, but recently I’ve realized that doesn’t always need to be the case.

Now sure it might not be as flashy as say moving to New York and becoming a model or going to Hawaii to live on a farm for 5 months like I did last year, but there’s a real ease in just staying course when there is a bit wind already in your sails.

The thing is when you drift too far off path from where you currently are you will most likely end up doing more work in the long run to reach your goals which not only can be very draining but disheartening as well.

Don’t get me wrong sometimes major changes are necessary, but usually the only change you need to make (if you’re not already doing it) is to just stay consistent with what you’re already doing that is working!

To be honest I’ve felt much less pressure / much more at ease since I stopped looking at where other people are at on their journeys and instead focusing my energy on what is working for me.

If it ain’t broken don’t fix it, but just make sure you keep using it!

Need help staying consistent try this…….

1. Stop looking at everyone else
2. Focus on whats working for YOU
3. Rise and Repeat, Rinse and Repeat, Rinse and Repeat……..

Failure Friday take 6

Todays #failurefriday might not have yielded me the love from a partner, but it eventually gave me the love I needed in my life.

This gem right here is a trailer I spliced together from an audition I recorded for The Bachelor 3 years ago.

At the time I hadn’t dated anyone since getting my heart broken 3.5 years prior and felt like if I was going to open myself up again why not go all in on National TV.

The funny thing is I’m not even sure I would have even taken the opportunity if they wanted me on the show, but I thought at least doing an audition was a step forward from where I’d been at in my love life.

Long story short I did not get chosen or even contacted and I sit here today still single, but with no lack of love in my life.

Honestly a lot of the things that I did in the past were based on the hope of receiving love from others, but I often found myself feeling empty when I did not receive it in the end.

The thing I’ve come to realize most in these past 3 years though is not to do something because I think it will yield love, instead do it first and foremost out of love for myself.

In the coaching business I often come across a lot of people who want to lose weight or get in shape because they want love from an outside source.

Now sure it’s great to find some hope or inspiration in that idea, but when you base your goal completely on that then you’re basing it on something you can’t control.

When your goal is built on a solid foundation of love for yourself then you take control of receiving the results you desire, and skies the limit on how big that building can grow!

Your Environment will make or break you!

I can now officially say “I’m not a doctor, but I’ve played one before”👨🏻‍⚕️.

If you would have told me 5 years ago that I could get paid to dress up I honestly would have probably just laughed.

Prior to that time I ran a party bus business and did a lot of dressing up just for fun, but it never once crossed my mind that it could be anything more than that.

I guess that I wasn’t really looking for it to be anything more than that either because I wasn’t exactly trying to change the environment I was in.

However in 2016 I got clear on what I wanted, which was to move to New York, and in doing so I ended up opening up many doors to many things I didn’t know before.

One of those doors eventually lead me into pursing work in the modeling industry and opportunities like this one playing dress up as a doctor for a campaign I recently shot in Philadelphia (thank you @clickmodelsphilly 🙏).

Now in life there are going to be many things that might prevent you from achieving your goal (or a goal you might not even know right now), but most often it’s because of the environment you surround yourself with.

Honestly if I didn’t move to New York and change the environment I was in then I probably wouldn’t be writing this today.

Entering into a new environment opens you up to new possibilities and helps you connect to people who can show you the path in achieving them.

To put it simply if you don’t know anyone that’s doing the things you want to do it is harder for you to see possibility of doing them.

If you need help seeing and believing the possibilities try this:

1. Venture outside the environment that you know (open up)
2. Take time to connect with what speaks to you in that new environment (get clear)
3. Surround yourself with the energy and people that will boost (seek help)

Confidence Comes From Within!

Last week I had the opportunity to work with Jedora (aka The Amazon of Jewelry) and get flashy with some of their pieces in a beautiful rooftop location.

Now when I look at this picture the quote that comes to mind is “Wear your jewelry, don’t let it wear you”.

Sure this quote can be used in many different ways from all of the things we put on bodies to stuff we use in our daily lives, but I believe the meaning behind it still stays the same.

We shouldn’t search for our confidence from the things we wear, the compliments we are given, or any other outside force for that matter, instead it should first come from WITHIN.

If you start becoming dependent on things or compliments solely to make you confident then you are setting yourself up for failure because you will eventually “wear” yourself out searching for it.

When I recently took a break from social media it was honestly because it was starting to wear me out in that way.

However once I stopped depending on a like, a compliment, or any notification to make me confident I was able to strip myself down and start gaining more clarity with my value as a person.

In doing so my confidence is no longer dependent on any thing, and I just now use those “things” to enhance it.

Need help finding your confidence?

1. Quiet the noise around you (aka stop looking at what others are doing).
2. Take some time to write down the things down you love about yourself (pump yourself up)
3. Rinse and repeat whenever needed (I do this often)
