Failure Friday take 5

This #fridayfailure is a failure I’m not even mad at, instead I’m actually thankful for!

It’s a flashback to my life prior to moving to NYC and becoming a model, when I owned a party bus company in Florida called Shabooms.

In 2014 a tv production company from LA approached us because they wanted to create a pitch to show networks for a potential reality show and this is a clip from it.

I’m not going to lie at the time I really wanted it to work out because I thought it would make gaining greater success with the business much easier (as it most likely would have), but deep down I knew it probably would have caused a lot my harm them good.

Anyhow long story short after several months of going back and forth reframing the pitch we ended up getting passed on by every major network (FAIL).

Now I’ve grown to learn that there are no real shortcuts to success in life, and that there is alway a cost to them whether you see it or not at the time.

Sure we might have gained more success with the business if it worked out, but the cost might have been it leading down an even more destructive path in my life.

Whether you’re trying to grow a business, lose weight, or just gain more happiness in your life just remember it all takes work, and I highly suggest doing the work because on that path is where the most growth and fulfillment will come into your life.

Reminder: sometimes that thing not working out how you hoped it would is actually the best thing that could have happened to you!

Triumphant Tuesday!

Lock onto your vision with complete confidence!

I guess you can call this a #TriumphantTuesday post because this is me celebrating a win as I had the opportunity yesterday to do something I love and get paid for it in the beautiful city of Chicago.

I definitely feel blessed to get to do what I do, but to put it simply the number one thing that has helped me lock into my vision for life and be confident in my abilities in creating it is having a healthy sleep schedule.

This means not only get the proper amount of it, but having a sleep routine that allows me to feel in control of my schedule.

With the proper amount of rest I can see things more clearly, I have the energy to do things necessary to create that vision, and I am in touch with who I am / what my strengths are.

So if you are feeling overwhelmed, cluttered, or lacking confidence in areas of your life then I suggest to just start by taking a look at your sleep routine and making the necessary changes to correct it.

Think about this……how can you see something clearly if you’re tired, how can you show up with energy if you’re tired, how can you fully believe in your abilities to reach your goals if you’re tired?

The answer is….YOU CAN’T.

Some people say “they will sleep when they are dead”, but personally I think most people walk around half way dead because they don’t get enough sleep.

In the end what’s the point of living if you’re not going to feel alive as you can be.

If anyone is looking for more info on how to form a health sleep schedule and gain control, clarity, and confidence in their life I’d be happy to help you do so. Just shoot me a message!

Failure Friday take 4

Coming today with a pretty epic style fail on this weeks edition of #failiurefriday

This one was for IHOP from the pre-pandemic era when I didn’t do much self taping at home and you can pretty much see that with my wrinkled shirt and crazy looking hair, not to mention pretty crappy lighting.

In this scene I was suppose to act like I was a sitting on a stack of pancakes (like a pancake king) with a scepter in hand transforming things into pancakes and then jokingly interact with my son about how I’m pancake rich.

You know the old me would have probably beaten himself up after watching this again saying something like “what was I thinking or was I even thinking at all”, but the new me knows he was just doing his best with what he knew and what he was going through at the same.

The thing is you’ve got to have compassion for yourself especially when you are giving effort and trying something new because if you are not it can lead you to sucking the joy out of it and eventually quitting.

It’s honestly ok not to know things right away or even see things that might be blatantly clear to others at the time.

If you just ease up and remain open you will eventually get to know and see things you didn’t see before because you are allowing yourself the space to grow.

Be compassionate, not militant!

How to Gain Confidence and Take a Leap of Faith!

Don’t be afraid to take a leap of faith!

It was just 5 years ago that I took the biggest one of my life moving to New York after living all my life in Florida.

To say it worked out pretty well would be an understatement, however recently I found myself at a point where I felt like it was time to make another leap.

I was back living in Florida again & wasn’t quite sure if I wanted to stay there, but also wasn’t quite sure where I wanted to be.

For months it seemed like I was saying yes to any opportunity that came my way just because they existed, but deep down I knew that most of them didn’t feel right.

Operating this way eventually lead me to hit a breaking point and so I decided to just start sitting still to get clear before making any more choices.

This meant even turning down opportunities that might have been gratifying experiences in the hope of finding a greater connection.

With the help of a break from social media I was able to regain control of my thoughts, which then helped me start to gain clarity with what I wanted.

I’m doing so I discovered I was a yearning for mountains and the fall feels of the city (especially after a year plus in tropical climates), and the more I connected to those feelings the more I saw things unfold in that direction.

Long story short I then booked a commercial in NYC and decided to open a door to all that lies on the other side of that.

This past week was one of the beautiful things that l found in that door as I reconnected with some great friends in the mountains of North Carolina.

I have to say that leaping isn’t so bad when you have people in your life that make the leap worth while.

These are the people who won’t only catch you at the bottom, but who also lift you up so you can continue to leap with even more confidence.

In the end when you leap sometimes you never know will you’ll end up, but the more you leap the more you will find that the drop down really is the most thrilling part.

Afraid of taking a leap? Try this……

1. Regain control of your thoughts
2. Take time to get clear
3. Bring in support to boost your confidence
4. Be consistent with your efforts
