Failure Friday take 3

#FailureFriday returns for round 3 and to show you what you probably should try not to do on your way home from work today.

In this audition I was playing a Dragster and suppose to become completely irate at all of the slow traffic on the highway.

Honesty I don’t think that I have an angry bone in my body so to put it simply this one was a big challenge for me.

Well long story short I didn’t get the job, but I tried and was even able to get to a point where I pretty much felt my blood boiling.

Even watching this again got my heart racing because it caused my mind/body to remember the feeling of anger I had to create.

Well I’m not going to lie anger is a feeling I’m glad I do not feel greatly.

In my opinion there is really no use in getting angry about the things that are out of your control like slow traffic, a failed audition, or something that turned out differently than you had hoped.

When you get angry the only thing that changes with the end result is just the amount of energy you expend and the stress you add to your body.

Remember the way you react is always in your control so why not choose the reaction that feeds wellness not illness because that will help you show up for the next attempt in a better state of mind.

Using your past accomplishments to fuel your greater goal!

Channeling some fall vibes with this throwback of the time I was on the Today Show.

I remember being very present for this moment as being on live tv doesn’t happen everyday, and you can even see the joy in my face as I’m smiling into the camera every chance I got.

What a rush it was, but to be honest though as soon as that moment passed I pretty much was looking towards the next one right away.

In the mix of life it’s easy to keep chasing the highs because they make you feel most alive, but along the way we often forget how far we’ve come or all that we’ve done on to get to where we are now.

I think it’s important to take some time every now and then to reflect and appreciate your past accomplishments big or small, and then use those things to continue to boost you forward.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned is that you have to keep finding a way to fuel yourself to get where you want to go, especially when you reach a comfortable spot on your journey.

So when you hit a low point or a lull point don’t beat yourself up, instead be your biggest fan and remember all the amazingness you’ve experienced / accomplished to get you to this point.

Fill your tank up with joy!

Failure Friday Take #2

#FailureFriday returns with an audition I did earlier this year for an undisclosed furniture brand.

Basically in the scene I’m on my comfy couching watching Jurassic Park eating popcorn and I get scared when the T-rex is chasing after the main characters.

I remember recording this a few times going more extreme each time to see how far I could push push.

I have to say there’s really something about making/forcing yourself feel a certain emotion, and I believe we can all use this in our daily lives to help boost ourselves, but it does take some patience and practice.

Anyhow long story short I didn’t get the job.

Did I do a good job?

I don’t know even know because I NEVER get feedback from what I send in.

In life sometimes you just have to be ok with not knowing why something happened or didn’t happen.

Often we waste too much time and energy questioning if we did something wrong, but usually that is the exact thing we are doing wrong.

If you want real feedback don’t sit questioning things you might not have an answer to and instead seek out a coach, mentor, a support group of people that are working towards the same goal as you.

Also in the meantime keep leaning towards what you are doing that feels right because the more you lean towards that then more you will actually see things work out for you!

How to go about making a major change in your life!

I want to share with you the biggest physical transformation I’ve made throughout my life.

For those that don’t know I had long hair for 15 years. (I’m talking about shoulder length glorious locks of love)

Now I didn’t really have any major intention when I started growing it out of high school except that everyone had short hair.

I guess you can say I wanted to stand out from the crowd.

Well over the years it definitely seemed to fit my free spirited vibe, and I felt the longer my hair got the wilder I became. (picture a long hair party guy who drove an animal print party bus)

Anyhow I finally hit a point in my life where I began making strides with my personal growth and I no longer felt the hair fit who I was / who I was becoming.

However making the change was easier said than done as I wanted to cut it for probably for about two years prior to actually doing so.

I often felt uncomfortable in my own skin during that time, but I was just scared of cutting it off because I felt like it defined who I was.

When something is part of you for so long it’s not easy to just go about changing it.

Unfortunately you often end up thinking too much about how others will feel about you instead about how you will feel about yourself.

Well after much debate I finally set a date and with the support of my hairstylist I felt the confidence to cut it.

Long story short I cut my hair, moved to New York shortly after, and then eventually became a model.

What I really want to share with you all though is that it’s ok to feel scared of making a major change to your life.

The thing you have to realize is that what you might think defines who you are is most likely the thing thats holding you back from the beauty that lies on the other side of it.

If you desire a change because you don’t feel comfortable in your own skin right now then ask yourself why would you want that feeling to keep defining who you are.

My best piece of advice for anyone looking to make a change is to take some time to align with your vision, put a time stamp on when you want to complete it by, and then bring in the right support to help you create that vision.

Just remember when you choose to base your decisions not on fear of loss, but on love for yourself then the possibilities of life become more abundant than you can even imagine!
